At SES Care Homes, we aim to take the worry out of finances, helping families navigate options with clarity and confidence. Care can be funded in several ways, depending on personal circumstances. Some families self-fund, using savings or assets to pay directly for care. This route offers flexibility and choice, allowing you to select the home or services that best match your loved one’s needs and lifestyle. We work closely with families to understand costs, help forecast long-term affordability, and ensure care remains sustainable.
For those whose savings or assets fall below certain thresholds, local authority support may be available. Surrey County Council conducts assessments to determine care needs and financial eligibility. Funding can cover all or part of the costs, with the remainder sometimes met through a family “top-up.” In cases where the family home represents most of the estate, deferred payment agreements may be arranged, allowing care to begin immediately while payment is postponed.
In certain circumstances, NHS funding may apply. Individuals with primary health needs, complex conditions, or intensive nursing requirements might qualify for NHS Continuing Healthcare. Even if full funding is not available, contributions for nursing care may still be provided.
